LONDON - HAHN - TRIER

We pick you up at your selected hotel in London and drive you to the airport from where we take the morning flight to the airport of Hahn. We proceed to the beautiful Roman city of Trier on the banks of the river Mosel. We take a panoramic tour which includes many Roman sights you can rarely find anywhere else north of the Alps. But it is not just the Romans who left their marks here - it seems like every architectural movement that we know has been represented in this delightful town. Dinner and overnight in Trier.

DAY 2:

TRIER - BERNKASTEL

Breakfast. More Trier in the morning and then in the afternoon we start driving along the river Mosel and soon reach the tiny town of Bernkastel - typical of the local style with its wooden façade houses. Overnight in the Mosel area.

DAY 3:

ELTZ - KOBLENZ

Breakfast. We follow the meanders of the river Mosel with stops along the way and eventually arrive to a hidden jewel. The castle of Eltz is one of the best Middle Age castles you can see anywhere as its original condition is almost unchanged. DAY 4:

LORELEI - RUDESHEIM

Breakfast. The vineyards of Mosel and then of the Rhine are our companions on this tour. The Rhine is very well known for its many castles and castle ruins. But it is also known for the legend of Lorelei. We stop at the place with that name from which you have the best panoramic view of the valley. In the picturesque little town of Rudesheim, you have time to buy souvenirs or drink a real German beer in a real German restaurant dating from the 18C in Drosselgasse. Overnight in Rudesheim.

DAY 5:

WORMS - HEIDELBERG

Breakfast. Our expedition continues to Worms. An interesting cathedral and the famous Liebfraumilch wine, named after the church, standing in the middle of the vineyards are its trademarks. In Heidelberg, which is considered to be one of the most romantic towns in Germany, we visit the castle above the river Neckar, see the oldest university in Germany, the Old Bridge and a famous student's prison where students were kept after having too much to drink. Overnight in Heidelberg.

DAY 6:

ROTHENBURG - STUTTGART

Breakfast. The city of Rothenburg with its defensive walls, narrow streets and lovely 15C - 16C houses takes us back to the Middle Ages. Later in the day we arrive to Stuttgart, known as the seat of the automobile industry, most notably Mercedes and Porsche, but it’s nevertheless interesting enough for us to take a walk around the centre, Konigstrasse, Schilerplatz with the Old Castle. Overnight in Stuttgart area.

DAY 7:

SCHWARZWALD

Breakfast. Full day expedition to the famous Black Forest of Germany with stops along the way, most notably the open-air museum in Gutach, the clock making center of Triberg, the Titisee lake and the summit of Belchen. Overnight in the Schwarzwald area.

DAY 8:

SCHAFFHAUSEN - CONSTANCE (KONSTANZ)

Breakfast. Schaffhusen on the river Rhine is a pretty town which lies close to the Rheinfalls where you have time to go on a boat and get closer to the falls. We continue along the Rhine to the town of Constance on the shore of Lake Boden. You see all the main sights, like the Council House where the Conclave was held in 1417, the towers and the Munster and the monument to Count Zeppelin, it's most famous son. Overnight in the Constance area.
