DAY 1:
ROME
Arrival to airport in Rome. Transfer from the airport and panoramic tour of the city: the Forum Romanum, Colosseum, Capital... We stroll around the city between Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Fontana di Trevi Accommodation in hotel and overnight.
DAY 2:
ROME - VATICAN - ROME
Breakfast. The first part is dedicated to the Vatican. We visit the cathedral of St. Peter and the Vatican Museum with Michelangelo's famous Sistine Chapel and the Angel's Castle. In the afternoon we walk through Roman Rome - the Forum Romanum and the Colosseum, the Capital hill and many more sights. Free time for individual sightseeing and shopping. Overnight in the city of Rome.
DAY 3:
ROME - NAPOLI - POMPEII - AMALFI COAST
Breakfast. We follow old Roman road south to the sea. Napoli - the capital of southern Italy is filthy, football crazy, impossible to drive around and has a distinct charm of its own. We do most of the sightseeing by foot in the center between the port, Piazza Garibaldi and Via Toledo, we see the Castel Nuevo and the Castel Capuano, the Forcella open air market, the beautifully preserved area of Spaccanapoli and many churches. Visit of the better known and bigger of the two towns that were covered in ashes when the volcano erupted - Pompeii. We see the most interesting parts of this huge arhceological area. We continue our expedition to the south and after some steep driving we arrive to the famous resorts on the Amalfi coast. Accommodation in hotel and overnight.
DAY 4:
AMALFI COAST - SORRENTO - (CAPRI) - AMALFI COAST
Breakfast. Full day sighteeing. In Amalfi we walk up the steps to the beautiful Cathedral and stroll along the promenade. We continue to famous resort Sorrento. Possibility to take a boat to Capri Island (at additional coast). Overnight.
DAY 5:
AMALFI COAST - SIENA - MONTECATINI TERME
Breakfast. Morning departure to northern Italy. We make stop in Siena, smaller and better preserved than Florence and for many it is even more fascinating than it's nearest rival. Again you have the possibility to see all the major sights and have enough time for your own. Accommodation in hotel and overnight.
DAY 6:
MONTECATINI TERME - VINCI - PISA - CINQUE TERRE
Breakfast. Some more driving brings us to the village of Vinci where Leonardo was born. We proceed our journey along the river Arno to the city of Pisa and the world- known Field of Miracles. You have enough time to explore The Leaning tower and other beautiful buildings. We drive to beautiful italian resorts on Ligurian coast: Rapallo, Portofino, San Fruttuoso. Accommodation in hotel and overnight.
DAY 7:
CINQUE TERRE
Breakfast. This is the day when we explore the wonderfull coast of the Cinque Terre. Combining the boat and the train you have the oportunity to make several stops and see all the small fisherman villages along the way. Overnight on the Ligurain coast.
DAY 8:
CINQUE TERRE - GENOVA - MILAN
Breakfast. Visit of Genova and walk through the old city center: House of Christoph Columbus, medieval monuments like San Lorenzo cathedral, San Matteo square, San Ambrogio church. Genova is known for its numerous palaces which we can see on famous Via Garibaldi. We end our day in the capital of the richest Italian region Lombardy. That is of course Milan. Evening stroll around the town. Accommodation in hotel and overnight.
DAY 9:
MILAN - LAGO MAGGIORE - MILAN
Breakfast. A day to explore the famous sights of Milan. We do this with the bus and by foot. The most interesting part is the triangle between the Scala, the Cathedral and the small church where they keep The Last Dinner by Leonardo. In the afternoon drive to Lago Maggiore. Boat cruise on the lake and visit of the island >Isola Bella< (gardens and palace). Return to Milan and overnight.
DAY 10:
MILAN - VERONA - VENICE / LIDO DI JESOLO
After breakfast some free time for shopping. In the afternoon we drive to Verona. We make stop at little medieval city Sirmione at Lake Garda. In Verona we take leisurely stroll through the old city and check the Juliet's balcony from the famed love story of Romeo and Juliet. Verona is also very well known for its huge Colliseum where the regular Opera shows are being held. We end this day in Venice/Lido di Jesolo. Accommodation and overnight.
DAY 11:
VENICE
After breakfast we drive to Venetian Lagoon passing by Lido di Jesolo to Punta Sabbioni. The boat takes us to Murano Island from where first glassblowers of today's world known >Murano glass< origin. We are going to witness glass production and look at the collection of art products and jewellery. Free time for purchasing souvenirs. Then we take a boat and drive to Saint Markīs Square - the main square considered as the center of Venice, with itīs main attractions and most important buildings: Doge's Palace, St Mark's Basilica, St Mark's Clocktower, the Procuratie Vecchie, Napoleonic Wing of the Procuratie, Procuratie Nuove, St Mark's Campanile and Loggetta, Biblioteca Marciana. The Piazzeta of San Marco is guarded by two patrons on columns - the lion of Saint Mark and Saint Teodoro of Amasea standing on a sacred crocodile of Egypt. Free time for sightseeing and shopping. Return boat trip to Punta Sabbioni. Return to hotel and overnight.
DAY 12:
VENICE / LIDO DI JESOLO - FLORENCE - MONTECATINI TERME
After breakfast drive to Florence. There is some walking as even vans are not allowed to drive inside the centre. We see the most important sights and leave you to decide where would you like to go (cathedral, baptistery, st. Lovrenc church, st. Cross church, Uffizi galerie, Old bridge .). In the afternoon some free time for individual sightseeing and shopping. Accommodation in hotel and overnight.
DAY 13:
MONTECATINI TERME - ASSISI - ROME
Breakfast. Drive to Rome with stop in Assisi. We visit the Basilica of St. Francis and have a stroll around the town. We continue to "City of the Seven Hills". Panoramic tour of the city: the Forum Romanum, Colosseum, Capital... We stroll around the city between Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Fontana di Trevi Accommodation in hotel. Overnight.
DAY 14:
ROME
Breakfast. Driving to the airport. End of our expedition.
