DAY 1:

LONDON - VENICE

We pick you up at your selected hotel in London and drive you to the airport from where we take a morning flight to Venice. You meet your DG at the airport in Venice, board your maxi-van and start this expedition. The first stop is the beautiful Venice itself. We take the boat first and then walk along it's canals. We shall visit Piazza de San Marco and other top sights. Accommodation is in the city so you have time to explore it on your own as well. Dinner and overnight in Venice.

DAY 2:

RAVENNA - RIMINI

Breakfast. We have more time to explore the Venice Bay with gondolas and boats before leaving in the afternoon and driving along the Adriatic coast to Ravenna where we stop at one of the best preserved 9C Basilica in Italy. Overnight in Rimini area.

DAY 3:

SAN MARINO - URBINO

Breakfast. Morning departure to one of the smallest countries in Europe - Republic of San Marino. We walk the walls with splendid views of the surroundings. San Marino may be a little bit too touristic for us, so we continue our expedition over the backroads of Montefeltro to the medieval jewel of Urbino, where we spend the afternoon. Overnight in Urbino area.

DAY 4:

AREZZO - CHIANTI

Breakfast. More 'backroads driving' takes us to the interesting goldsmith's town of Arezzo. Apart from having the largest gold manufacturing plant, it has preserved it's historic charm. In the afternoon we are in the Chianti region, Greve and surroundings. We visit a Chianti vineyard and taste the local wine. Accomodation in Chianti area.

DAY 5:

FLORENCE

Breakfast. Morning departure for a full day in Florence. There is some walking as even vans are not allowed to drive inside the centre. We see the most important sights and leave you to decide where would you like to go in the afternoon (museums and churches are everywhere) but there may be impossible to avoid crowds this time. We return to our hotel very late so you have the possibility to fully appreciate this renaissance capital. Overnight in Chianti region.

DAY 6:

SIENA

Breakfast. Morning departure for a full day in Siena. Siena is smaller and better preserved than Florence and for many it is even more fascinating than it's nearest rival. Again you have the possibility to see all the major sights and have enough time for your own strolls - but again expect a lot of walking. Overnight in Chianti region.

DAY 7:

SAN GIMIGNANO - VOLTERRA

Breakfast. Morning departure to San Gimignano - the medieval Manhattan with several towers which where once the taste of the gentry. From San Gimignano we visit Volterra - an Etruscan center and get to know this civilisation a little bit better. We spend the night in the river Arno Valley.

DAY 8:

VINCI - PISA

Breakfast. Some more backroad driving brings us to the village of Vinci where Leonardo was born. We proceed our journey along the river Arno to the city of Pisa and the world- known Field of Miracles. You have enough time to explore The Leaning tower and other beautiful buildings. Overnight on the Ligurian coast.

DAY 9:

CINQUE TERRE

Breakfast. This is the day when we explore the wonderfull coast of the Cinque Terre. Combining the boat and the train you have the oportunity to make several stops and see all the small fisherman villages along the way. Overnight on the Ligurain coast.

DAY 10:

PARMA - MILAN

Breakfast. First we drive to Colonnata to have a better look at the world famous marble of Carrara, where all the best sculptors have searched for their perfect stone. We continue our expedition to Parma and have a quick stop there to check the local cuisine. We end our day in the capital of the richest Italian region Lombardy. That is of course Milan. Evening stroll about the town. Overnight in the city centre.

DAY 11:

MILAN

Breakfast. A day to explore the famous sights of Milan. We do this with the maxi-van and by foot. The most interesting part is the triangle between the Scala, the Cathedral and the small church where they keep The Last Dinner by Leonardo. Overnight in Milan.

DAY 12:

LAGO DI COMO - BERGAMO

Breakfast. We enjoy a day of driving around Lago di Como. From the town of Como itself and via some beautiful spots to the interesting town of Bergamo, we drive where the big coaches cannot go. The dual city of Bergamo (upper and lower) is also very interesting to explore. Overnight in Bergamo.

DAY 13:

BERGAMO - LONDON

Breakfast. Drive to the airport and fly to London. End of our expedition.
